Fragrance Found

I didn’t want to move to Hawaii.

Sure…could I VISIT here and stay in one of those over-the-top celebrity-sporting spa resorts that cater to your every whim like passing out drinks with umbrellas and serve you mangos and papayas picked right off the tree as you relax in your own ocean-front cabana with a good read watching the humpback whales and dolphins frolic in the ocean?

Duh.

But live on a little bitty island (the most isolated island chain in the world, thank you very much) far away from family, friends, and familiarity? Umm, no thank you.

But God’s plan was for our family to be here, and so we are.

I’m so glad that was His plan. His plans are always better than mine.

These pictures are from my ‘hood. I walk out the front door and I’m instantly hit with this beauty…

this color…

and this fragrance…

“Every path He guides us on is fragrant with loving kindness and his truth.”

Psalm 25:10

Oh yes they are.

Ahhh, I could almost smell the scent of those flowers wafting off the photos! LOVE that last pic sooo much! The sun is finally finally shining here again too and my boys are basically living outside again now.

    Happy Happy Spring!!

Heather – Yes, He is! Sometimes I wonder if He spent twice as long creating this beautiful place!

Lisa-Jo – Ya, that last pic is my favorite, too! So happy you are getting some spring! That makes all the difference, doesn't it?

    Your blog is beautiful!

I like your perspective on living in Hawaii. I think we are all quick to say "yes! I want to live there." without thinking of the sacrifice of family and friends. The grass is always greener isn't it.

    The pictures are gorgeous!

    Smiles!

Ahhhh, the beauty! I imagined the sight and smell of those flowers… and this evening I drank in the sounds of spring as the "peeper" frogs sang all about the pond in our back yard. God is Grand! And it was a grand St. P's day… we welcomed my nephew into the world today! All around God's creative design shines… in the physical world and in our personal journey- He is the supreme Architect! :)

Such a lovely environment. My husband and I are thinking of Hawaii in August. Is that a good month, or is any month good there?

Jennifer – Thank you so much for your encouragement! I so appreciate you visiting us. You are so right…the grass is always greener! I guess all we can do is be thankful for where we are in the here and now!

Monica – so glad spring is making it to your neck of the woods! Spring…it does the body (mind, soul) good, huh? Congrats on the new nephew! What a perfect time to welcome a new little one!

Dayle – I don't think there is a bad month to visit Hawaii! :) August is hot, but it's the tourist off-season so it's not so crowded. Let me know if you have any other questions!
